Stephanie Roth formed her quintet in 2013 to perform and record her own songs, as well as jazz standards, pop tunes and also Bertolt Brecht songs in surprising arrangements. With extraordinary musicians such as these, the variety of musical influences, ideas and styles create a unique sound and intensity.

Stephanie Roth

Stephanie Roth was born in Cologne and had ballet and tap dance lessons at an early age. Later she took piano lessons and singing lessons. She sang in various bands in Cologne before she started studying jazz singing at the conservatory in Maastricht and at the conservatory in Rotterdam, where she graduated in 2001. Stephanie had lessons with Coco York, Peggy Larson, Gerrie van der Klei, Phil Minton and Silvia Droste. She is singing in various jazz formations in the Netherlands and Germany and also performs regularly as a singer of Bertolt Brecht/Kurt Weill-songs. In 2014  Stephanie recorded a CD with her quintet interpretating jazz standards as well as her own written songs.

Sven Schuster

Sven Schuster is the bassist en bandleader and composer of the Band Shooster. Furthermore he performed in the band of Susanne Alt and the Ob6sions, the houseband of the program Mijke's Middag/Mijke & Co Live on Dutch Radio 6.
Sven (1965) was born in Wolfsburg Germany, where he started to play bass at the age of sixteen. He studied in Graz Austria at the Hochschule für Musik and the Conservatory in Hilversum in the Netherlands. 2007 he became Bandleader, Composer and Arranger of the Amstel Bigband.

Franz von Chossy

Franz von Chossy was born in Munich, where he started playing the piano as a six-year-old. Through his mother he came to know classical music and his Ukrainian grandmother encouraged him to play folk music on the accordion. 
Von Chossy moved to the Netherlands to study at the conservatory of Amsterdam with Rob Madna, Karel Boehlee and Rob van Bavel in 1999.

In 2003, he moved to New York to study at the Manhattan School of Music, where he was taught by Kenny Barron, Garry Dial, Dave Liebman, John Taylor and Kenny Werner, among others. In New York Franz also studied film composition with Edward Green.
He won the “Dutch Jazz Competition 2006" with his Trio because of his 'original, dynamic and often virtuoso (inter)play'. Franz won the "Best Soloist" award during the same competition for his 'subtle, spatial and personal play'. In 2009, he won 2nd prize in the international Montreux Jazz solo Piano Competition. In 2011 he founded a Quintet with Alex Simu on clarinet, Jörg Brinkmann on cello, Jeffrey Bruinsma on violin and Yonga Sun on drums. He has released several albums under his own name, which were highly praised by the music press.

Franz von Chossy has performed throughout Europe and the US as well as in Asia (China, India, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Turkey) and Africa (Tunisia, Marocco), Australia.  With his superb talent for improvisation allowing him to switch between different styles without any effort, von Chossy is also a valued member of jazz combos such as the Pascal Schumacher Quartet and Arifa, touring the world with them. Every once in a while he also gives solo concerts on church organ.

Achim Heine

Achim Heine is a fluent, melodic jazz drummer, fresh- beats drummer and versatile percussionist. He is creating music in a highly concentrated and genuine atmosphere that is sharp and precise as well as easygoing and accessible. He enjoys communicating in this way with his audience.

He developed this approach during his studies at the conservatory of Amsterdam (master degree 2006) and on his study trips to New York (2006), Ghana (2003) and Senegal (2011). At this moment he is drummer/ percussionist in various Dutch jazz and world music formations, such as earswideopen, DAD or alive, Sysmo and Twitching eye Trio. He also teaches at 2 music schools and is a regular guest teacher at the conservatory of Amsterdam.
With different projects he performed in the United States, Jordan, Greece, Senegal, Ghana, Austria, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands.

Jeen Rabs

Jeen Rabs is a guitar player who plays various styles of music. Besides his formal studies at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, he studied with Ricardo Silveira in Brazil, David Gilmore in New York and Phillip Catherine in Brussels. He performed in Thailand, New York, Ethiopia and Uganda. He accompanied artist like Scott Hamilton, Tooth Thielemans, Thijs van Leer, Eric Vloeimans, Peter King, Denise Jannah, Benny Bailey, James Morrison, Roger Ingram, Eric Miyashiro, Lucien Barbarin and Lee Thornburg. He plays with the Holland Big band. He also he played with the Dutch Swing College band among other bands. He recorded two cd’s under his own name and will launch a new cd in 2016. In 2016 he will also present his 3rd cd with Irish sound artist Stano.
